Things to do in November

Okay, November is a key time to get things organised:

  • Make your Christmas orders in November. Order ham, turkey, chicken, goose or any other special item you may need
  • Get that Advent calendar stocked and ready to roll
  • Buy presents and cards
  • Buy non-perishable food items
  • Present making – it is best to get everything done by the end of the month so that you can work out what you still need to buy or make before December. This way you can avoid last minute dashes to the shops.
  • Decoration making – really get going with the craft tasks. You want to get all of the basics, your table centres and crackers out of the way nice and early.
  • Finalise details of any events you are hosting
  • Send your invitations now, December is a busy month and people need to plan their time carefully
  • Take stock of dishes, glassware, cutlery, serving implements and the like for entertaining
  • Check the pantry – do you have all of the dry goods your need for your Christmas baking and food preparation
  • Make a list of all of the food and drinks you will need to get and start buying a few items every week
  • If you are getting a live tree place your order now
  • Finalise purchases of presents and cards to be sent overseas
  • Check international postage deadlines if you are sending things overseas
  • Do your on-line Christmas shopping now – some things can take 6 weeks to arrive.
  • Check the state of the tree and decoration
  • Organise your Christmas day guest list
  • Firm up your Christmas Day/Party and other events
  • Make jams and preserves so that they are ready for Christmas

Christmas, Planning, Presents, Shopping

Have you started your Christmas shopping

Believe it or not, but Christmas is just around the corner, and its about time to start planning (if not actually starting) your Christmas present shopping.

Why start early?

  1. You can spread the expense over a couple of months.
  2. You are not left running around for gifts at the last minute.
  3. You can order things on-line knowing that they will arrive on time.
  4. You will be able to post international and interstate gifts early in December.
  5. It is less stressful.
